pills

benni has been sick yesterday and he got some pills - rather big things - he needs half of one twice a day... plus, normally he should get a vitamin pill for a shiny fur every day. and since the the dog is in the office most of the day my desk is stacked with pills now. anyhow, feeding animals pills is never easy. but, with some authority it's working. though sometimes i'm wondering if benni thinks i'm stupid (i guess he thinks the same the other way around). i normally try to feed him the pill inbetween treats, so he doesn't realize it's something healthy ;). so anyhow, just now i had to feed him his pills and he took it and licked it and left it there, waiting for the next treat. so i pushed the pill with the foot towards him, telling him he needs to eat it. you know what he did? he bite half of it off, ate it and looked at me looking like: that's a fair compromise, right? - well, i'm not that nice... he ate the whole thing in the end and got a nice treat afterwards. whoever has dogs/cats out there - how do you feed pills? if i put it in the food the pill never gets eaten.

benni war gestern ein bisschen krank also hat er ein paar tabletten bekommen - ziemlich große sogar - er muss zwei mal täglich eine halbe tablette fressen.... und normalerweise sollte er auch einmal täglich eine vitamintablette bekommen für ein schönes, glänzendes fell. und nachdem benni die meiste zeit im büro ist, bin ich die tablettenfütterin. und tabletten an tiere zu verfüttern ist immer eine besondere aufgabe. aber mit ein bisschen überzeugiungskraft ist das machbar. obwohl ich mich manchmal schon frage, ob benni mich für dumm verkaufen will (ich vermute mal, er denkt das auch über mich...). normalerweise juble ich ihm die tablette zwischen den leckerlis unter. jedenfalls hab ich das gerade eben auch wieder gemacht und er hat die tablette genommen, sie abgeschleckt, links liegen lassen und auf das nächste leckerli gewartet. und nachdems schon abgeschleckt war, hab ichs ihm hingeschoben und ihm erklärt, dass er das jetzt fressen muss, sonst gibts keine leckerlis mehr. was macht er? er beisst die hälfte ab, frisst sie und schaut mich fragend an nach dem motto: das ist doch ein fairer kompromiss, oder? - naja, so nett bin ich auch wieder nicht.... er hat das ganze teil gefressen zum schluss und danach ein ordentliches leckerie bekommen. wer auch immer von euch hunde oder katzen zu hause hat: wie verfüttert ihr euren tieren tabletten? wenn ich sie ins futter mische bleibt sie unter garantie liegen.
