maryville

so it was really true that richard didn't have any power at his cabin nor in maryville. so on sunday he hooked us up with a hotel room for free (thanks to the hangar). on monday morning he got power back at his house in 'town' (maryville) but he rented it out so we couln't stay there. we decided to take the adventure and stay at the cabin so kevin, rich, matt and i hit up hy-vee and got the stuff we needed to survive there (no water either btw). since we didn't have any power there he had a generator and a gas heater to keep us warm. we played cards most of the time and cuddled up (well mostly me and the hubby :))
i have some fun stories about kevin's car (nikki) but i'll post that tomorrow so you will have something to look forward to. (means: check my blog!! :))

es war also wirklich wahr, dass richard keinen strom hatte - weder in maryville noch in der huette. also hat er uns (kevin, matt und mir) ein gratis hotelzimmer besorgt (danke hangar!). am montag hat er doch tatsaechlich strom bekommen in maryville aber leider hat er dieses haus grad vermietet also konnten wir dort nicht bleiben. wir hatten also beschlossen, die herausforderung anzunehmen und fuhren zu hy-vee (grosser supermarkt) um uns mit den dingen einzudecken, die wir so brauchten, weil wir nicht erwarten konnten, dass er auch da oben strom hat (er ist wirklich im letzten winkel, mitten im nichts zu hause - aber die 'huette', wie er sie nennt ist wirklich schoen und eigentlich ein kleines haus, wenn man mich fragt).
wir mussten also wirklich ohne strom auskomen und auch ohne wasser, weil sein wasser mit einer elektropumpe gepumpt wird. rich hat aber vorgesorgt und wir hatten ein notstromaggregat (laeuft fuer 12 stunden am stueck im normalfall) und einen propangasheizer (wie nennt man das wirklich?) es war echt kuschelig (zumindest fuer mich und matt :))
ich hab echt lustige geschichten von kevins auto zu erzaehlen aber die spar ich mir bis morgen auf (das heisst im klartext: checkt meinen blog!!)
