hippos

i'm not sure why but i gave our guide the challenge to show me a hippo that's not hiding in the water. in the parks you could find several "hippo pools" but whenever we stopped there the hippos where in the water, just the eyes sticking out - so no good picture opportunity. finally, in the serengeti, the guide took us to a hippo pool and we were all excited because there were about 20 animals in this little pond, playing and some of them did some "i'm the boss here" games. unfortunately right at that time i was at the peak of my "bowel cleansing" which didn't allow me to stay longer than 20 minutes there. m. was sad, since he hoped to score a nice video of two hippos fighting but he was nice enough to not throw a fit. thanks hun! :)
ich weiß eigentlich nicht genau wieso, aber ich hab unserem guide die aufgabe gegeben, mir ein hippo zu suchen und zu zeigen, dass sich nicht im wasser versteckt. in den parks konnte man mehrere "hippo pools" finden aber wann auch immer wir an einem hippo pool vorbeigefahren sind, haben sich die hippos im wasser versteckt und nur die augen haben herausgeschaut (war wohl immer zu heiss...) also hatte ich kein gutes foto von einem hippo. endlich, in der serengeti, hat uns unser guide zu einem hippo pool geführt, in dem ca. 20 tiere spielten und auch ein paar hippos im "ich bin hier der chef" gehabe herumgestampft sind. leider war das gerade zu dem zeitpunkt, als meine "darmreinigung" auf dem traurigen höhepunkt war, sodass ich nicht länger als 20 minuten dort ausharren konnte. m. war ein bisschen traurig, weil er auf ein cooles video mit hippo-kämpfen gehofft hatte aber er war echt nett und hat keinen heulkrampf bekommen. danke schatz! :)
