brain fart - aussetzer

i just found out that there is no translation for "brain fart"...
anyways, i don't really have anything to say (as usual) but i thought i'd share this short story with you:
today i was talking to my sister elli on the phone and i told her a story and about how i *almost* got in a fight with my hubby and the only thing she said was: "wow, you can fight in english - that's soo cool!" i just started to laugh.
wouldn't it be boring not to be able to have fights/discussions with your partner? besides: if i wouldn't be able to do stuff like that it would be very oneworded at certain times in our relationship ;)
but she is not completely wrong - i remember in the beginning of our relationship i wasn't able to have wild discussions with matt cause i always had to translate the words in my head first and then i was't able to say it the way i wanted to say it - it was frustrating. so i was learning quickly ;)
ps: no, there is no crisis going on. no worries. i swear.

ich hab mal wieder nichts großartiges zu erzählen, aber ich dache, ich teile diese kleine anekdote mit euch:
heute hab ich meine schwester elli angerufen und ihr etwas erzählt und so nebenbei erwähnt, dass ich mit matt *fast* gestritten hätte. die reaktion meiner schwester: "woa cool, du kannst auf englisch streiten - das ist sooo cool!"
ich hab ehrlich gesagt lachen müssn - wäre es nicht langweilig, keine diskussionen mit dem partner führen zu können? und ganz nebenbei: wenn ich das nicht könnte, wäre es in gewissen situationen eine sehr eintönige beziehung ;)
aber sie hat nicht ganz unrecht: ich erinnere mich noch an den anfang unserer beziehung, wo ich noch dinge im kopf vom deutschen ins englische übersetzen musste. das dauerte natürlich ein bisschen und dann konnte ich das nicht so rüberbringen wie ich wollte, weil ich noch etwas hoprig unterwegs war, und dann war die aggressive luft sowieso raus und meistens haben wir dann darüber gelacht (auch eine art der paartherapie ;)). also hab ich mich schnell angepasst und gelernt, auf englisch zu diskutieren ;)
ps: nein, wir durchleben gerade keine kriese. alles ok. ganz echt.
