the castle - das schloss

ireland is a truly pretty country. it has a lot of castles (ok some of them are not that impressive since they are pretty rotten) and very green grass/trees. i think the grass in ireland is greener than anywhere i've been so far.
the picture of the castle i posted was the most impressive to me. can you imagine somebody had it built and lived in it? must have been pretty cold in the winter ;) unfortunately we couldn't go in to check it out since it's an all girls catholic school now and i suppose matt wasn't girly enough ;) (in fact i think it was not even open to public at all...)irland ist eine wirklich schöne insel. es gibt viele viele schlösser und burgen (ok, einige davon sind weniger beeindruckend weil sie schon sehr verfallen sind) und sehr grünes gras bzw bäume. ich glaube, das grün, das irlands gras hat ist grüner als alles was ich bisher an grünem gras gesehen hab :)
oben hab ich das bild der burg, die ich am beeindruckendsten fand gepostet - könnt ihr euch vorstellen, dass das mal jemand bauen hat lassen (wie lang das wohl gedauert hat?) und darin gelebt hat? (muss kalt gewesen sein im winter...)
leider konnten wir nicht rein weil die burg inzwischen eine katholische mädchenschule ist, soviel ich weiß, und matt wohl ein bisschen zu wenig mädchenhaft ist ;) ich glaube sogar, dass die öffentlichkeit bzw touristen dort gar nicht rein können. aber der anblick von aussen ist auch schön :)
