advent

here in austria we have a tradition in december. from the first to the 24th of december we have "advent". i just looked it up in the dictionary. normally you should know what it is about - i will explain it anyways. in those 24 days we are waiting for the little jesus to be born. and i more think it's for little kids, cause we have calenders here with 24 windows that have a little chocolate behind every window. this year, matt and i each bought one (i haven't had one in years). down there is the picture of it. you can get many different ones. ones from milka (the chocolate with the purple cow) or from lego with many different toys or one from kinderüberraschung ("kids-surprise") like mine (the triangle one). i love it. it's very popular (next to the milka ones.) the kinderüberraschungsei (kids-suprise-egg) is a chocolate egg (white and milk chocolate) with a toy in the middle.

matt wanted to have a very traditional and old looking one since it's his first, so i got him a nice one from lindt (swiss chocolate, really yummy).

tomorrow we can open the first window - it's very exciting :)

ok now, isn't that tradition awesome?? could be american if you ask me - alot of food involved in this tradition ;)
